King County Council member Joe McDermott, who serves on our Advisory Council, was the speaker at our Annual Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at the High Point branch of Seattle Public Library, 3411 SW Raymond St.

Joe spoke on “My West Seattle Through the Years.”  A former state representative, Joe grew up in West Seattle and has a strong interest in history. One of his earliest jobs was as a guide for the Seattle Underground Tour.

Below is video of the entire Annual Meeting. Included are presentations on membership (1:27-9:07), the election of 2016 board officers and trustees (9:39-26:50), an in-memoriam segment (27:43-29:41), a presentation by King County Council member Joe McDermott (29:42-53:26) and a tribute to three former board presidents: Judy Bentley, Carol Vincent and Merrilee Hagen (53:27-1:10:43). The concluding segment (1:11:06-1:18:19) consists of Marcy Johnsen, board president, describing having grown up in our “Birthplace of Seattle” Log House Museum.
