The rich history of the Duwamish Peninsula has shaped, and continues to shape, our community. This year, as we mark significant anniversaries — including the establishment of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society in 1984, the construction of the Fir Lodge/Alki Homestead in 1904, and the installation of the Belvedere/Admiral Viewpoint replica Totem Pole at the Log House Museum in 2014 — the Southwest Seattle Historical Society draws upon the significance of the past to navigate new strategic goals and initiatives.

Guest Speakers will share how SWSHS is partnering with our community to create a new vision and advance new voices in the telling of our past and include:
- Alex Gradwohl, Program Director, Maritime Washington National Heritage Area
- Kristina Pearson, Director, Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center
- Michael Halady, Duwamish Carver, Admiral Viewpoint Park Story Pole
The event includes food, music, a cash bar, and an exciting live auction featuring priceless experiences including the chance to ‘Make your own Ice Cream Flavor’ with Husky Deli, design a custom traffic signal box mural (or privately owned canvas painting) by Desmond Hansen Art, and more.
