VIDEO: Jean Carroll recalls the opening of Colman Pool

Enjoy this 20-minute interview of Jean Carroll, who was one of the first two swimmers to dive into brand-new Colman Pool in Lincoln Park when it opened on July 4, 1941. Carroll is a longtime volunteer at the Senior Center of West Seattle. She took part in the he 75th anniversary celebration at on Monday, July 4, 2016, at the pool. See the invitation below.

 

Enjoy this video of pre-show conversation between Jean Carroll and Gary Gaffner, who played King Neptune in the original 1941 opening ceremony, and Mark Sears, longtime pool staffer. They were chatting prior to the July 4, 2016, 75th anniversary celebration of Colman Pool.
