February Letter from the President

Looking back on 2019, we are immensely grateful for the support we have received and for the progress we have made in caring for the Log House Museum and our collection, in presenting the stories and unique history of our peninsula and in celebrating the heritage of our community.

Looking forward to 2020, we anticipate a blockbuster year. Please stay tuned for some exciting upcoming announcements that reflect the commitment to our mission to promote our local heritage through education, preservation, and advocacy.

I know you already appreciate the distinctive vibe we have here in West Seattle. We are a community of families that have lived here for thousands of years or for generations or have arrived recently from all over the world. The Southwest Seattle Historical Society eagerly welcomes this great diversity of culture and exists to tell these stories. We see ourselves as the heart and soul of this amazing community. We hope you will join us this year in attending an event, or through the many opportunities to volunteer, or by becoming a member.

Our monthly newsletter will keep you up-to-date on the activities going on at the small but mighty Log House Museum! We hope to see you soon.
