In this video, Kim Ketcham of the Washington State History Museum welcomes visitors to West Seattle Summerfest on Friday, July 11, 2014, as part of the museum’s promotion of the state’s 125th birthday.

Ketcham and Molly Wilmoth of the museum spent four hours at the booth of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society making buttons for children and promoting a drawing in which the prizes included “History Is Not for Wimps” T-shirts, a book, museum tickets and the plush Seymour History, an Olympic marmot doll serving as the mascot of the celebration.

Our booth, co-sponsored with Hotwire Online Coffeehouse, was promoting the 30th anniversary of the West Seattle Bridge, which includes the sale of “Bridging the Gap” T-shirts using the original 1984 design. For more on the celebration, visit this page.
