Owners of home at 3045 64th Ave. S.W. included Doc Maynard and Ivar Haglund
The home widely considered the oldest still-standing house in Seattle went up for sale on Thursday, June 15, 2017, open houses took place the next two days, and offers were due Monday, June 19, 2017.
Standing at 3045 64th Ave. S.W., one-half block from Alki Beach (and three blocks west of our museum), the home originally stood at the southwest corner of 64th and Alki Avenue, where it was built in the mid-1860s and from where it was moved in about 1915 to its present location (and chopped).
The home’s original owner was Doc Maynard, and later owners included Ivar Haglund. Both are major figures in Seattle history.
Local media coverage of the house going up for sale included a two-minute story by Heather Graf that features our organization on KING5 TV news. Also posting about the house were West Seattle Blog and the West Seattle Herald.
