This video is the full presentation of Clay Eals, executive director of our historical society, at a session of the 2015 Washington Museum Association conference at Maryhill Art Museum, near Goldendale along the Columbia River. The conference took place June 24-26, 2015, and the title of Eals’ presentation was “Getting Personal: Raising Your Heritage Organization’s Visibility Using the Original Social Media (Face to Face).” The case studies supporting this theme were (1) the June 6, 2014, unveiling of the Admiral Totem Pole at our historical society’s “Birthplace of Seattle” Log House Museum, and (2) the June 5, 2015, “Group Hug for the Homestead” at the 111-year-old Fir Lodge/Alki Homestead one-half block from the museum.
