VIDEO: Miss our Annual Picnic on July 4? See video of the program here!

Please enjoy this video of our Annual Picnic, held Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in our “Birthplace of Seattle” Log House Museum Courtyard. Emcee was Peder Nelson, vice-president of our board. The event featured several elements:

— Live patriotic music from the West Seattle Community Orchestras’ Brass Sextet (0:43-3:55).

— A preview of the July 9, 2017, Courtyard Garden Tea by Marcy Johnsen, trustee and past board president (8:44-10:45).

— A welcome from Jeff McCord, new executive director (11:44-22:06).

— A welcome from Mariane Hermanson, executive director of the West Seattle Community Orchestras (23:13-25:17).

— A remembrance session for the late Merrilee Hagen, former board president who spearheaded acquisition of the museum in the mid-1990s (25:23-45:38). The session featured the recitation by Jeff McCord of a Merrilee Hagen speech from 1993 along with remembrances by Merrilee’s daughter Melissa Cooper, Marcy Johnsen, Carol Johnston, Karen Dobbs and Jordan Hecker.

— A raffle drawing for two tickets to our Champagne Gala Brunch on Nov. 4, 2017 (45:56-51:58). The winner was Anne Wise.
